Did someone say brunch?! Seed is open for lunch and dinner too, but their brunch is top notch. They are New Orleans' only vegan, full service restaurant. They even serve vegan beignet. BEIGNETS! We couldn't believe it.
Try the nuevos rancheros, sweet corn polenta , tofu scramble, artichoke cakes and mimosa. Our favorite was the nuevos rancheros. The dish includes regular or spicy potato hash, black beans, cashew sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and lavash bread.
The Catahoula Hotel is not only beautiful but home to Piscobar. Piscobar is a vivid vegan Taiwanese restaurant and bar using the freshest ingredients and flavorful spices. The food is out of this world and so are the drinks! All cocktails are pisco-based and inspired by the city of New Orleans. Major s/o to Waites, cocktail connoisseur, for teaching us about pisco! We recommend the judgy parrot, mardi gras dumplings, the wander, market dumplings and spicy stuffed buns.
Breads on Oaks bakes a full line of bread, biscuits, cakes, and more. All biscuits and sweets are made with organic flours, local produce and nuts. Plus their goods has half the sugar as traditional sweets.
Everything at the Cafe is plant-based using whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and beans, which is healthier, contains no cholesterol, and rich in fiber and nutrients! Woo!
We recommend trying the quiche, pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich and soup of the day.
Okay, so this restaurant isn't exactly vegan but it is vegan friendly. Cane & Table is a bar and restaurant that creates rum-based cocktails and eclectic plates. When we say rum-based we mean it! Rums and tropical fruits are blended well with tequila and mezcal in island-esque drinks. The cocktail menu is backed by rustic colonial dishes.
We recommend going during happy hour and ordering the black eye pea hummus and curry. Don't forget to order the Mariner’s Swizzle! This refreshing drink of rum and sherry swizzle, Don Q 2007 and pale sherry is served over crushed ice in a hollowed out pineapple.
