Top 4 Bars in New Orleans

When you think of New Orleans, bars come to mind. New Orleans has countless bars for you to visit.

It is hard to pick the top 4 bars but we’ve rounded up a few that have great drinks and atmosphere. The cocktails matter but so does the décor and service! Trust us – These top 4 bars are very Instagramable and will take your trip up a notch. Drink up!

Location: French Quarter

Napoleon House is a beloved landmark on the corner of Chartres and St. Louis in New Orleans' French Quarter. The bar is best known for their famous Pimm’s Cup! It is a gin-based aperitif mixed with fresh lemonade, 7 up, and a sliver of cucumber. It is their signature cocktail and comes in a variety of different flavors.

When you arrive, request to sit in the courtyard area. It is so relaxing and Zen-like. The staff is very professional and accommodating too.

Pro Tip: This bar has great, well priced food with vegan options. Order the Corsican Salad and Hummus Spread without cheese. The bread is amazing as well. They serve it hot from the oven!

Location: Central Business District

Loa Bar at the International House is a stylish bar with both atmosphere and attitude. With candles lit all around, the bar focuses on craft cocktails and individuality.

Loa bar made our Top 4 Bars list because all the cocktails are enhanced by a rainbow of foraged ingredients that capture the unlikely essence of New Orleans - like Spanish moss and pine needles. This bar is both warm and sophisticated!

Pro Tip: Order the Delilah if you like gin!

Location: Garden District

Jack Rose is actually a restaurant in the Pontchartrain Hotel. We put them on the Top 4 Bars list because you can order a drink and sit in the incredibly decorated Living Room. Who wouldn’t want to sip under the Lil Wayne Portrait by the infamous Ashley Longshore?! If it is too crowded you can take your drink out to the Rose Garden Patio.

Pro Tip: You can order small plates and snack in the Living Room too. Order Mixed Nuts and Marinated Olives for the full experience.

Location: Garden District

Hot Tin is location atop the hotel we stayed at in New Orleans, the Pontchartrain Hotel. It is the hottest rooftop bar in the city! Once a penthouse, the bar has been converted into an sexy rooftop with a 270 degree view of Downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. The décor was molded after a 1940s writer’s loft. You have to see this for yourself. Order the Hibbity Diddity or Some Like it Hot.

Pro Tip: Go before 6pm. If you arrive too late you will have to wait in a long line in the hotel’s lobby. This place is always poppin so dress in your best “bar wear.”
