10 Best Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Chicago

Chicago has one of the best dining scenes in the United States. From fine dining to hole-in-the-wall joints, the city has several excellent restaurants. Even if you are vegan, vegetarian, or veg-curious, there are spots that you must check out. Our 10 Best Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Chicago includes both essential and trendy places that you must try if you are visiting or a native of the city. Get ready to pack your plate full of veggies and indulge in meat-less entrees.

Want to enjoy dinner with your non-veg friends? Head to Beatrix! While they munch on Szechuan Chicken, you can enjoy a Vegan Cauliflower Steak topped with cauliflower tahini and walnut/caper salsa.

Vegetarians - There are tons of options here for you too! Quinoa Cakes, Cauliflower Grits, Avocado Benedict and Ricotta Ravioli, are just a few of the many amazing dishes you can taste.

You can not visit Chicago and not go to Chicago Diner. Voted Best Vegetarian by VegNews, this place is a must. The Taquito Fundido and award-winning Vegan Milk Shake had our mouths watering for more.

Are you a wine, bread and olive person? Fig & Olive is for you.

Embrace the magic of the Mediterranean cuisine and feast on a Forest Mushroom Crostini and Roasted Cauliflower. Be sure to tell the chef to "veganize" your dish!

Quartino is an urban Chicago Italian Restaurant that offers vegan-friendly options in the heart of the city. Its wine bar, patio, and vintage decor is perfect for those who want a unique dining experience.

If you can, try to snag a table on the second-floor patio. Quartino has tons of vegan options. You can customize your vegan pasta dish by picking your pasta noodles, sauce and veggies.

Located in the hip neighborhood of Wicker Park, Handlebar serves made-from-scratch vegetarian and vegan comfort food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We tried the Chili Cheese Fries, Fried Avocado Grilled Cheese, and Gyro.

Out shopping on the popular Rust Street and need a good meal? Le Colonial, a Chicago famed Vietnamese restaurant, features a fantastic patio and bar.

Be sure to ask for the vegan menu when you are seated. The Cha Gio Chay - crispy spring rolls, Banh Pho Xao - rice noodles with veggies, and Tau Hu Cari - tofu with veggies in yellow curry sauce are great entrees to order.

Upscale and chic, Ronero offers superb Latin dishes with a rum bar! What we like about this restaurant is the chef's ability to create amazing vegan dishes. While we were there they made rice, seasoned carrots, and brussels sprouts.

Mi Tocaya is a neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Logan Square. Its colorful aesthetic and bold dishes explores the Mexican heritage of Chef Diana Davila.

We recommend trying the Guacamole with Chile Ash, Salsa, Raw Cactus Salad, and Charred Butternut Squash Tacos. For drinks, order the Chicana or Paloma.

They don't call Pick Me Up Cafe your one-stop restaurant for nothing! They offer vegan, vegetarian and meat-friendly options.

Their food is perfection. No matter what you get, your meal will be delicious. We recommend getting the Vegan Benedict, Tofu Scram, and French Toast.

Want to eat great food and dim sum?! Book a table at Sunda. The vegan Dim Sum is worth a try.
