BEST VEGAN TACOS IN DALLAS
This month thousands of people gathered at the Dallas Farmers Market for Dallas Observer Tacolandia. This festival was an unlimited tasting event that featured the best tacos around the Big D!
As you can imagine, it was a challenge to navigate this taco-fest as a vegan. To our surprise, however, several vendors offered a veg option (like an actual menu item that was meant to be veg-friendly). Check out our top three picks for the best vegan taco. If you haven’t tried them, you should taste the magic ASAP:
*We featured the event on our Snapchat (@teemosley) and Instagram (@taylormmosley) channels. Be sure to follow us!
Sundown at Granada’s Red Lentil Taco – We are not a fan of lentils, but we like this lentil taco! Sundown is known for their healthy, veg-friendly menu. Head to their Dallas location to taste these tacos before you catch a show at the Granada Theatre.
Tortilleria la Nortena’s Bean Taco – Who knew a bean taco could change your life?! Made with one ingredient, beans, this simple taco was the most fantastic thing we tried. We couldn’t believe how much flavor this dish contained. The combination of the beans with the flour tortilla, onions, cilantro, and salsa sent us to taco heaven.
Resident Taqueria’s Wild Mushroom Taco – We love shrooms! This taco was filled with slow-cooked mushrooms, poblano, and almonds. To make it vegan, you have to request the taco without any queso. *Pro tip: Their Caramelized Cauliflower taco (not pictured) is to die. The crispiness of the kale, cauliflower, and pepita will make you dance. Be sure to try this one as well.
