5 SINGLE WAYS TO CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and you know what that means. You are either the person who buys red flowers for your S.O. or the person who sits alone eating a box of chocolate. I know it is easy for a single to be pessimistic about Valentine’s Day but don’t worry. I’ll help you brighten your spirits. This year, you are going to embrace singlehood.
Here are 5 single ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day by yourself or with friends. Why should couples have all the fun?
1. Cook a Fantastic Meal
Whip it up!
Several psychiatrists say that cooking can be therapeutic for you. It can reduce stress, ease anxiety and help you tap into your creative side. I’ve been cooking more meals at home and it really does help me relax.
If going to the grocery store is too much for you, order from a food delivery service and follow their recipes. I’ve ordered from Green Chef in the past. Their vegan Berbere Black Lentils and BBQ Seitan Stir Fry dishes are amazing! If you want to try Green chef, I’ll treat you to 4 free meals. Click here to try it for free.
2. Have a Movie Night
Watching a movie is fun. Watching them with friends is even better!
All you have to do is invite some people over, pick a movie, prepare your favorite snacks and BAM…you have yourself a movie night. Since it is Valentine’s Day, I would avoid watching romantic comedies. We don’t want the night to end in tears.
3. Exchange Gifts with Friends
Who doesn’t love presents?
My mom and I have a tradition where we exchange gifts on Valentine’s Day. Doing this reminds me that whether I am alone or not, I have a family that loves me unconditionally. Exchanging gifts with your friend and/or family not only strengthen relationships but also makes you happy!
4. Treat Yourself
Make Valentine’s Day about you and indulge in some SLEF-love. Go ahead! Treat yourself to new pair of jeans or a trip to the bookstore.
You deserve it.
5. Pamper Yourself
Getting quality R&R is necessary.
While everyone is off gallivanting with their S.O., book yourself a 2 hour massage. I recently got a spa membership and I don’t regret it. Taking care of your body, physically and emotionally, can reduce stress, soothe sore joints and help you feel better about yourself. This is what you need on V Day.
